What You Will Do:

The RN, as one of the providers of health care, has a unique role in promoting health, in preventing illness, and in helping clients attain and maintain the highest level of health possible. They are responsible for providing comprehensive care to patients, with predictable and unpredictable outcomes who may or may not be clinically stable.

What You Will Bring:

• Must hold a degree from a recognized and accredited medical university, institution or college
• A minimum of three (3) years clinical nursing experience working on Orthopaedic Surgery environment
• Recent surgical experience required
• Current BCLS
• Coronary Care 1 required to work in Surgical Constant Care (SCC) (completion within 1 year of hire or at discretion of management)
• Social and Community Services (SCC) trained staff are preferred

Who You Are:

• Demonstrated knowledge base of diagnoses and pathologies attached to Surgical Units (General, orthopaedic, urology, gynecology and plastic surgery)
• Certification and continued competence in IV therapy, IV meds and working knowledge of Epidurals, PCAs and Intrathecals
• Central Venous Access Device (CVAD) 
• Excellent pre and post-op assessment skills
• Excellent organizational and prioritization skills
• Ability to work in stressful situations
• Excellent verbal communication and written documentation skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well with patients/family, staff, physicians and the community
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and use good judgement, and as a team member.
• Basic computer skills – email Order Entry
• Demonstrated commitment to continuing education
• Demonstrated good attendance with ability to maintain this standard
• Working knowledge of Epidurals

1. Work Permit: Requires a valid work permit issued by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) by Aliant Resources for you.
2. Passport: A valid Indian passport with a minimum of 5 years of validity remaining.
3. Medical Examination: A medical examination certificate from a designated panel physician in India, confirming that you meet the health requirements for immigration to Ontario, Canada.
4. Proof of Funds: Evidence that you have sufficient financial resources to support yourself during your stay in Ontario, Canada.
5. A Police Clearance: A police certificate, is required to show that an applicant has no criminal record or poses no security risk to Ontario, Canada.
6. Supporting Documents:

• Nursing License: A copy of your nursing license from the Nursing Council of India. For applicants that are selected, original copies must be forwarded directly from the Nursing Council of India.
• Education Credentials: Evidence of your nursing education, such as diplomas or degrees from recognized Indian universities/colleges/nursing schools. For applicants that are selected, original copies must be forwarded directly from the college or university.
• Language Proficiency: Proof of language proficiency in English such as IELTS or TOEFL scores.
• Professional Experience: PDF documentation of your nursing work experience in India (resume/CV, work experience letter with current employer, reference letter from past 2 or 3 employers in a nursing role).
